Our May 10 performance of Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem has been relocated to historic Jordan Hall!
Don’t miss Dr. Jameson Marvin’s final performance with the Jameson Singers! Due to overwhelming demand, tickets for our original venue, First Church in Cambridge, sold out quickly. We are pleased to announce that the May 10 performance has been relocated to Boston’s Jordan Hall, one of the premier concert halls in New England. Additional tickets are available for sale through the NEC box office.
Now in his fiftieth year as a choral conductor, Dr. Marvin, praised by the Boston Globe for his “consummate mastery,” continues to approach concert programming with enthusiasm and a sense of wonder. Under his direction, the Jameson Singers has become one of the premier choruses in the Boston area. Known for its highly expressive and nuanced choral sound, the 70-voice ensemble was singled out by the Boston Musical Intelligencer for singing with “passion, impeccable intonation, and blend.”
In the fall of 2019, the Jameson Singers begin a new chapter in their artistic history as they welcome the leadership of Dr. Kevin Leong, noted Boston-area choral conductor and long-time protégé of Dr. Marvin. “The Board unanimously chose Kevin for his understanding of the vocal instrument, his deep knowledge of musical context, and his artistic expression,” says Lisa Rucinski, Jameson Singers Board President. A full announcement will follow the May 10 concert.
